Tamar Braxton’s Soul Train Awards Performance/Speech – Does She Have Stage Presence?

Tonight Tamar Braxton’s Centric Soul Train Music Awards acceptance speech and performance aired tonight.

We have seen Tamar struggle to obtain the performer spotlight for singing on her reality TV shows. Tamar kept fighting to have a music career. Although she’s no newbie to the music industry; in fact she has had numerous of record deals and she’s been dropped from several labels. Tamar finally ‘won’ at the Soul Train Music Awards receiving awards such as: Song Of The Year for “Love and War,” Best R&B/Soul Female Award, and The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award.

Tamar humbly accepted her first award and got a few people together:

“I’m just so surprised. I just wanted to start off by thanking God and thanking everyone who supports me and believes in my music and takes me serious as an artist because that’s who I am.
I just really want to leave you guys with this note: I never thought in my life that I would be here and the only reason is, I almost gave up on myself. I want to let you guys know, no matter what you want to be, no matter who you want to be, don’t give up on YOU. It is possible. I’m 36 years old and I’m proud of it. And I don’t give a damn if I was 56, you are not finna STOP [me], point blank and the period.”

Tamar’s rival K. Michelle reached out to Tamar again via twitter to try to end their ongoing beef. K. Tweeted:

“I’ll try this 1mo time. Congrats @tamarbraxtonher! We both been through hell fighting 4a dream. Let’s cut the shit and inspire”

Tamar’s performance left fans feeling a little let down. She doesn’t do it for me, on stage. She can sing, but I don’t know if she has stage presence down yet. Watch the performance below and you be the judge.
