Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Rough Childhood & Dealing With Jealous Girls

Nicki Minaj attitude has been wearing me thin on American Idol. I forgot for a second, why I liked her. Needless to say she showed her relatable side in the June/July issue of Teen Vogue. Nicki reveals that she did not have the perfect home life as a child and her struggle to fit in.

“Every time my parents fought, my mother would have us move and I would have to go to a new school, which meant I’d have to face the task of making new friends.”

“I encountered jealous girls a lot,” she told the mag. “What it came down to is that the bullies wanted me to bow down to them and I just wouldn’t.”

“Sometimes there’d be a fight, sometimes not. I let people know I wasn’t going to be pushed around.”

I was like Nicki, moved around a lot; I had to encounter many different personalities and little ugly girls who tried to bully me. I appreciate Onika for opening up. Now if she could just fix that little nasty attitude of hers.
