Fake Drama: Basketball Wives LA’s Chantel Christie Lied To Draya Michele About Boyfriend Orlando Scandrick Just To Get On The Show

Basketball Wives: LA takes the cake for fakest reality show on TV. From the beginning of the show, I felt that the drama between Draya Michele, Chantel Christie and Orlando Scandrick seemed fake. Jackie Christie’s daughter, Chantel has finally decided to spilled the beans about lying about being with Draya’s man, Orlando just to get on the show.

Chantel Christie on her relationship with Orlando:

“I met Orlando through a mutual friend. He text me one night while I was at the studio, and that was in June [2013]. And I didn’t find out that they were together until the ESPYS [July 2013], so the viewers can do the math. But all these stories about breaks, and oh we weren’t together, and well we were together, but I just wasn’t living in the house, all these things – it’s too much. But what I will say is that I laugh at people calling me a side chick and a home wrecker because I was never aware of her. First off, it’s not in my character; it’s too many fish in the sea. Second of all, I mean, for crying out loud, she’s on a show with my mom. It’s too many other people out there for me to just go for somebody like that; it’s just not…the people that were involved and that introduced me to him, and he text me first, they know what’s up. I don’t really worry about the outsiders that say things like, ‘oh, you were with him when he was with her, and you’re proud of being the side chick.’ Who in their right mind is proud of being the side chick? Like, what?”

“I addressed it as being something minor. Granted, everybody goes, ‘If it was minor, why did you bring it up?’ At the end of the day, why do you guys watch reality TV for? This is entertainment; everybody just calm down and relax. At the end of the day, this is what it was, and it should have never got to this point,” Chantel explains.

Chantel tries to rationalize why she continued with her lie even after things got out of hand between Jackie and Draya:

“I’m called names, and I’m this, and I’m a ho, I gotta send for you. So yes, it’s going to turn into something ugly, but this could’ve easily been prevented.”

“I live, and I learn; that’s all I can say. I don’t not regret it, I don’t really regret it – you know it is what it is, and everybody has to kind of deal with life as it comes. You can never be too certain of what’s going to happen and what’s going to come from every situation, so, like I said, I never knew it would’ve got to this point,” Chantel said.
